You are one of the men I've learned to love.

Not taught by rote but by experience

The value found in placing hope above

Disillusionment's partner, discontent.

Ultimately guided by your God sent

Vision I'm set toward finding my freedom.

Be assured if finding it I relent,

If truth's maturity sends me to some

Hole of quiet safety disguised as doom

The blackest night becomes the sun.

Inconsistent courage is all I've known.

Or if I find instead my work's begun

To sing out clear, pure, praise

I am what it conveys.
