Lingering at the Cemetery
Seems like yesterday
we talked of weather…
supposed to rain
and that kiss
if you can call it that
more a peck on the cheek.
did I sigh when you told me
you had forgotten the
dry cleaning…again
trivial moments take
on monumental meaning
in hindsight
the world just keeps
on revolving…
unaware
my last words
were not what
I’d have chosen
had I known you
would take them
with you…forever
