In the midst of the darkness;

In the chambers of the King —-

He has bowed himself before her;

To bring pleasure to his Queen.

In the midst of the darkness;

In the comfort of his embrace —

He has kissed away the tears;

That flowed down her face.

In the midst of the darkness;

In the silence of the night —

Apologies were whispered;

To remove all lingering strife.

In the midst of the darkness;

In the dance by candlelight —

Their bodies move involuntarily;

And from  sheer delight.

In the midst of the darkness;

 In an unusual fashion —

Conflict was a key;

To re-igniting their passion.
