Janet began her artistic journey after opening her graphic design business, In House Graphics satisfying her need for creative expression. However, a simple Facebook post of a charcoal portrait put an insatiable hunger for fine art deep inside her and sparked her passion for portraiture. Over the past few years, Janet Maines has shown her graphite and pastel portraits at local galleries, Shreveport's Downtown Artwalk, private receptions and has led workshops on portraiture.
