Basic Information

• Artist Statement

  I paint using acrylics and oils as they contain pigments and metals from both the natural world and manmade manufacturing as it relates to my subject matter of deteriorating buildings. I use left behind buildings as an allegory for the fear of abandonment, spirituality, and the end time. Architectural elements appear in dreams as well as having been used in religious parables to describe the spiritual state.
  
  Inspired by Neo-Expressionism, Surrealism, and urban exploration, my work touches on the experience of thrill and terror with haunted spaces as it relates to the sensation of an unexpected rapture. The work is an investigation and reflection on time, revelation, and dwellings on my own spiritual contemplation and anxiety.
