About Artist

Basic Information

  • Artist Statement

It was always there. Stories written over the years. Arranging holiday decor just so. Seeing feng shui in every color in every room. Designing cards, brochures, event materials, even videos while traipsing through the corporate world. The Artist. She was right there trying to insert herself.

A few years ago, two mother daughter activities brought her out. Designing jewelry with Stephanie was a real art endeavor. We spent time together and successfully showed and sold at the Red River Revel two years in a row as well as in Artspace.

Did I mention designing websites? I’ve done half dozen. A marriage between design and function that brought the artist to the business mindset.

The second mother daughter adventure was Painting with a Twist. Once a month, getting together to drink wine and paint was our togetherness not just as Mom and daughter, but as artists. Stephanie had always painted, but now I was on board with her.

Since, I embarked, wholeheartedly, into acrylic painting. Florals. Landscapes of places we camped or visited. Abstracts. I loved the feel of the paint going on the canvas, even if I tend to over think what, when, where and how it lands. (there’s that type a person)

Acrylic fluid art took the over thinking out. Okay, it just tamped it down a bit. I love the quirky, unique and mysterious ways that the colors flow and ebb to create. Sometimes I manipulate the paint, mostly it tells me what it’s going to do.

This art form has captured my artistic fancy. Hopefully you will see a piece here that inspires you as well.

    PS - Thank you Stephanie.
  • Resume

    2001-2017 Real estate broker
2008-2010 (?) Red River Revel - showed jewelry line created by my daughter, Stephanie, and me.
2010- Artspace Giftspace - jewelry exhibited and sold

I've always had a keen interest in design, photography and art, dabbling in photography of buildings and nature in Northern California is the 70's.

My daughter and I started making jewelry in 2008 and applied for acceptance to the Red River Revel and showed for two years.

I started painting in acrylics in 2015 for relaxation. I concentrated on landscapes of places we went to, or camped at like Lake Ouachita in Arkansas and Lake Buchanan in the Texas hill country as well as florals. My other focus was on abstracts based on images from the Hubble telescope of space.

Discovering fluid acrylic art in 2017, I jumped into this medium in earnest this year. I'm self taught, absorbing all the information I can find on this art form to create archival quality work.
