About Artist

Basic Information

  • Artist Statement

I started painting to heal, and I kept painting because it brings such joy to create and share. Bright colors and simple pleasures of daily life fill my paintings, because these are more precious to me than they have ever been. When both my parents died and I simultaneously developed a serious illness, I picked up a paintbrush and began acrylic painting. Painting offered an opportunity for healing, an outlet for gratitude for being alive, and in a particular way the restoration of my eyesight, which had been compromised.

These days I take things a day at a time, and view each day as an opportunity and a gift. My work as a pastoral minister informs my painting, and I find that my painting informs my ministry.
