    Bernardo Barela is a clean Christian comedian, who has been making diversities of people laugh, with his militant comedic style of humor, for years.
    He was born and raised in Corpus Christie Texas. In 1983 he joined the United States Marine Corp where he served at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. After the military, he returned home to Corpus Christie where he married, fathered two daughters Sarah and Sierra, started several businesses, and worked at the Texas Department of Corrections criminal justice system.
    In 1987 he gave his life to Christ and began to faithfully serve the Lord in ministry. In 2005 he relocated to Bossier City Louisiana to marry his current wife of almost 12 years. Later in 2008, he fathered his youngest daughter Daria. He has faithfully run the Sound and Media Department at New Creation Family Church, for the last twelve years.
    In 2011 he had a feature roll in the movie Catch 44. Together he and his wife, founded TAMAR INC. in 2017 a non-profit organization that uses the arts to help trauma survivors recover their voice, value, and vision for a flourishing future. He and his wife are also the Co-founders of Poiema Ministries LLC. Poiema is a publishing company established in 2008. He also helps churches and other non-profit community organizations with theatrical productions. He is a master builder and creative set designer for Poiema Ministries and other organizations. He has also performed various parts in the productions and operate sound and stage lighting equipment.
    Bernardo’s comedic experience came through the many comedic roles he played in theater. In the production, William J. Seymour, he played The Fireman; In, The Testimony, he played Mr. Jenkins; and in, Age and Stage, he played an Old Armor Bearer. These parts eventually lead him venture out to do stand-up comedy at places like “Tops and Bottoms” at Four Jays Coffee House and at New Creation Family Church, Don’t let the Phone Booth Foul You comedy show to raise Autism awareness, Shreveport Got Talent at Shreveport Community Church, and various comedy shows in the Shreveport area.
