About Artist

Basic Information

  • Artist Statement

I am a self-taught artist born in Fort Worth, Texas and lived in various states including Colorado, Wyoming, North Dakota, and Louisiana. I moved from Colorado Springs, CO to Bossier City, LA in 2010. My dream is to become a full time self sustaining artist. I have always been drawn to various arts including textile art, visual art, and pottery. After quilting, knitting, and ceramics for numerous years, I found my true passion in painting and mixed media. I mainly work with acrylics, inks, charcoal, and found objects. The inspiration for my paintings is found in different music genres, everyday surroundings, and nature. I love creating texture in my paintings with unusual things not associated in a fine art painting and experimenting with combining different mediums. The majority of my works have a gritty contemporary urban feel. If I had to classify my type of art, I guess I would have to say it's contemporary, mixed media, collage, abstraction. Actually whatever you call my "style", to me it's just art I love.
