At a certain time of night
The moon will pull,
With its silvery light,
On all things that float about,
Within my mind,
And without,
Water comes more and more,
And then recedes
From my soul's shore,
As the tears down my cheeks flow,
My heart breaks with what I know,
Sometimes I can push it down,
But some nights I almost drown,
And as I fight for air,
I wonder what is truly fair,
I hope again that dawn will come,
And that we are not
Our parts,
But our sum.
